主啊！求祢賜福今天的聚會 用祢真理的聖靈引導我們 感謝讚美，奉主耶穌基督的名求的 阿們 我今天要跟你談的事情 I want to talk about something 就是照你們在傳單看到的 based on what you've seen on the bulletin 人的尊嚴 The dignity of man 墮落與什麼？ is fall, and is? 你們不知道你們講道的題目嗎？ Don't you know the theme of this sermon? man's dignity 墮落 fall 與救贖 and salvation 這裡是三部 three things here 原先的尊嚴 our original dignity 後來的墮落 and then subsequent fall 再加上最後的救贖 and lastly, salvation 所以這是一個這樣的線條 you see a certain direction here 從高到低 from high to the lowest point 再從低到比高更高的高 from the lowest point to the much higher point 上帝的創造 the creation of God 罪惡的侵蝕 the invasion of sin 救恩的提升 and the elevation of salvation 是尊嚴 Dignity Fall 跟救贖 這是對人類的解釋 this is an explanation to man Interpretation of humanity 對人類的一個解釋 this is an interpretation of humanity 我是人 I am a man 我怎麼知道人是什麼？ how do I know what it means to be human? I'm human 怎麼評定人的價值？ how do I define the value of humanity? 怎麼知道人的意義？ how do I know my meaning in life? 今天在你們的博物館 in your museum 我見到一個女孩子，她是唸藝術的 I saw a lady, she's studying art 她是中國來的 from China 所以我就問她一句話 I ask her something 妳研究藝術 妳一定知道希臘的藝術 you study art, you must know about Greek art 希臘的藝術是世界最著名的古代藝術 Greek art is one of the most important art forms 你看中國人畫的人像 when you see human art forms in China 跟希臘人雕刻的雕像 from sculpture from Greece 你發現相差太遠了 you see great differences between them 因為中國人把意境畫出來了 because the Chinese were portraying the meaning of the spiritual art 而不是在 the meaning of the material beauty 所以對於物質型態的美 中國人不注意 so the Chinese are not concerned about the material aspects of the art form 從型態的美來看 from the ideal logical beauty 來看 這個希臘人的形象 the Greek art forms 是世界最美的 are the fairest in the world 接下去 and then 應該有埃及人的形象 how about the Egyptian art form? 還有印度人的形象 how about from Indian? 還有中國人的形象 or from China 完全不一樣的 all different 這個埃及人的形象 the Egyptian art 他是臉孔一定向著旁邊 the face would face sideways 但是身體一定向這邊 the body the other direction 所以你看這個是埃及人的形象 so when you see Egyptian art is always like that 那這個就是埃及了 this is Egyptian art 而且這個腳不是直的，一個也是向前 you always see it this way 但他不會這樣看你 he won't look at you 他看那邊 he will look the other way 他的胸膛向你 but the chest is toward you 這個是埃及人 this is Egyptians 希臘人呢 but the Greece 他無論看哪裡 no matter where they look at 整個頭的角度 the angle of the head 跟身體的曲扭 and the angle of the body 就變成非常非常柔美，很自然的 you see a very gentle demure art form 所以連他臉孔的表態 so the expression on their faces 以及筋肉的這個緊張 and the tension with in the tendons and the muscles 都經過很深的考慮才弄出來的 and all are very precisely crafted 譬如說一個女子剛剛洗澡出來 like a woman who have just come out of her bath 她給人看到了 when someone sees her 她就用一隻手遮住她的胸部 she will cover her breasts with one hand 然後一隻手遮住她的下體 and the other one with her lower part of her body 她不敢這樣停著的 she wouldn't stand up straight 帶著彎一點 she will bend a little bit 頭斜一點 her head will look sideways 腳曲一點 and the leg will be a bit bent 這帶有點羞答答的感覺 a certain sign of shyness 你們沒有注意藝術的，你不懂我在講什麼 if you don't know art, you don't know this 但是你聽了以後，你對藝術就開始有興趣 but you get more interested in art after hearing this 什麼叫做埃及形象？ What is Egyptian art? 什麼叫做希臘形象？ What is Greek art? 因為希臘人對美是一致性的 because the Greeks are consistent in the appreciation of beauty 是完整性的 is integrated 而且是很自然性的 it's natural 是和諧性的 it's harmonically 這個是別的藝術從來沒有辦法達到的 you don't see it in other art forms 那麼，印度人的形象呢？ How about the Indians? 就是彎彎的 it's all curly 那麼連腳也彎、身體也彎 everything is curved 那表示很快樂的樣子 it's an expression of happiness 那他們特別把性生活當作和諧的重點 to them, sex life is like the alternate of their enjoyment 所以在印度的男女的雕像中間呢 you see the crafting of the human body 特別要表達歡喜快樂的樣子 they express the kind of happiness 結果，神聖性減少了 you don't see much divinity 嚴肅性減少了 you don't see solemness 這在中國的形象中間呢 in China 根本很少有性生活 you rarely see sexuality portray 除了皇宮裡面那些春宮圖 other than those that you see in the emperor's palaces 他們注意這些，但是線條跟角度完全不對 but their lines and angles are all wrong 但是中國正統的詩意裡面的圖畫 but in the orthodox Chinese paintings 你會看見他們很注意神聖的人性 they are all concerned about the dignity of the human form 還有這個生活愁苦的表達 expression of human grief 生活志向的表達 of other human will 就完全不一樣了 you see it's quite differently 那麼，藝術的最高峰呢？ the of art 到底要表達什麼呢？ is to express something 就是人性的尊嚴是很重要的 the dignity of humanity 因為剛才我對那個女孩子說 I said to that lady 妳是唸藝術的 you study art 那我問妳一個問題 I ask you a question 我每次遇到一個人 every time I meet someone 可以跟他談幾句話的時候 I will say a few things to them 最後我要把他帶到上帝的面前 I want bring them before God 我說妳看希臘藝術很美，缺點在哪裡？ what's lacking in Greek art? 她講不出來啊 she couldn't answer me 後來她想了一下 she thought about it 還是沒有講 couldn't answer 我說：我給妳回答好不好？ I'll answer for you 希臘的美 Greek art is beautiful 缺乏了一件事情 but there's something lacking 人生的意義跟目的是不清楚的 the meaning and the propose of life is not clear 你看 Aphrodite you see Aphrodite 就是羅馬人所講的Venus（維納斯） Venus in Roman 美得不得了 so beautiful 但如果你看她到底人生要做什麼？ but if you ask her about the direction of life 她就告訴你「我就是這麼美」 she'll say: I'm just beautiful! 除了這麼美以外 other than being beautiful 就是美 I'm just beautiful 美了以後呢？ 以後越老越不美就死掉了 she just gets old and died 所以希臘人幾乎很少雕老人的像 the Greeks rarely sculpted the elderly human bodies 他們雕年輕人的像的時候 when they sculpted young people 男的英俊得不得了 when they sculpted the human body the male is so handsome 代表作是叫做 Apollo Belvedere Apollo Belvedere 女子的代表作就是斷了兩隻手的 Venus Venus the female human form Venus of Milo Venus of milo 那麼，這些都是最美最美的人 these are the most beautiful human forms 當他們雕刻那些現實的人的時候 when they sculpted real human beings 他們雕刻了蘇格拉底 Socrates, c. 470 – 399 BC 柏拉圖 Plato, 428/427 or 424/423–348/347 BC 還有亞里斯多德的像 Aristotle, 384–322 BC 那麼這些像就一點都不美了 these are not beautiful 因為他想像的、理想中間的美，不是現實中間的美 because what he pictured in his ideal is not what he saw in reality 但是當你一切的雕像、一切的圖畫 把人性的尊嚴表達出來的時候 when these paintings and sculptures portray human dignity 都會吸引你特別注意它 it will draw your attention 比如說：Rembrandt van Rijn,1606-1669 有一張圖畫 叫作 Aristotle with a Bust of Homer there was a painting by Rembrandt of Aristotle 這個亞里斯多德在荷馬(Ὅμηρος，約前9世紀－前8世紀)的私人的雕像面前 按著他的頭，看著前面 and he was looking ahead 那麼這裡呢 就把人性的尊嚴表達出來了 you see human dignity expression here 一個是主前大概四百年的亞里斯多德 one is Aristotle 400 years before Christ 另外一個是主前大概五、六百年的荷馬 the other one is Homer from 5 to 600 years before Christ 所以相差好幾百年 you see a few hundred years between them 荷馬寫了兩部大著作 Homer wrote two important works 一本叫做 Iliad Illad 第二本叫做 Odyssey Odyssey 你們 Honda 汽車有一牌叫做 Odyssey 汽車 Honda Odyssey 不過是用那個名來做名字 they borrowed the word from his work 那麼在這裡面要描寫的人哪 human character 有正人君子 gentleman 是偉大的 great character 是長久有影響的 lasting character 是人生有價值的 value in life 那麼，這個 Ulysses 就變成這一個東西的總代表 so Ulysses is the summery of all these qualities 也就是一個正人君子最偉大的人格，一定包含四大項 great gentleman possess four qualities 第一樣 一個人一定要有智慧 firstly, wisdom 不要傻傻地過生活 you don't live life foolishly 那，智慧哪裡來的？ where do you get wisdom? 從古人學習的 from the ancient people 從書本吸收的 from books 從經驗歸納的 from experiences in life 從許多文明的結晶拿到的 from civilizations 無論如何 no matter what 你要思考 you must think 你要思想很聰明的結論 and then you come to a conclusion 這是人格的第一部份 that's the first kind of human character 第二個 second 一個人格的偉大 the greatness of character 一定要有公義 must have justice 如果你做人很聰明但是不公義 if you are wise but not just 你是害群之馬 you harm a lot of people 如果你做人很有智慧 if you have wisdom 但是你對人跟對自己，不一樣的標準 but you have different standards when you treat other people 你對有錢、對窮人有不一樣的標準 different standards between the rich and the poor 你就是一個不公義的人 and you are not a just person 這樣的人在社會上，一點沒有什麼造就 you don't make contribution to society 第三個人格偉大的地方 the third quality 就是你要有勇敢 that is to have courage 你沒有勇敢你做不了事情 without courage you cannot do things 你沒有勇敢，你除不了惡人 you cannot eliminate evil 所以你一定要有勇氣 so you must have courage 才能把你的理想把它表達出來 express your ideals 把你的目標完成起來 to accomplish your goals 智慧在裡面 wisdom within you 公義在心裡面 justice in your heart 勇敢在外面 courage displayed 第四樣呢 the fourth quality 你一定要有節制 you must have self-control 如果你很勇敢但是沒有 self-control if you are courageous but you don't have self-control 你的勇敢會變成野蠻 you courage can become barbarian 勇敢的人跟野蠻的人 barbarian people compare with courageous people 不同的地方是什麼呢？ what's the difference between them? 勇敢的人知道什麼時候要收手 courageous people know when to stop 野蠻的人不懂得什麼時候要收手 but barbarian people don't know when to stop 所以希臘人的智慧、公義、勇敢、節制 so when courage, justice wisdom, self-control all together 就變成人格的四大支柱 you see the four pillars of the human character 那這個呢，在基督教的思想裡面 in Christian thought 有很多不同的地方 there are many different areas here 因為基督教還提到了愛、良善 這些聖潔，是希臘人所沒有的 because Christianity talks about love, holyness things are not mentioned in Greek 那我們看見每一個民族 in every culture 都要表示「人到底是什麼？」 they want to display what humanity is 我們中國人對於人應當怎樣 也有很多、一大套的思想 and the Chinese have a lot to say about this 所以孔子所講「仁者仁也」 就是用仁愛來表示你人的價值 so Confucius said that to be human is to display love 孟子就告訴我們，我們是人 所以我們有四個東西，是動物沒有的 so Mencius said there are four things we have that animals don't 第一個東西 First 就是人有惻隱之心 we have a sense of empathy towards others 當別人受苦的時候 when others suffer 我們會同情 we have empathy 我們會了解 we sympathize 我們會心裡為他難過 we will feel sad 孟子講一句話 Mencius said 當別人的孩子掉在井裡的時候 when another family's child falls into the well 雖然與我無干 it's nothing to do with me 不是我的孩子 it's not my child 但因為他是人 because he is human 掉在井裡受苦 he fell in to the well , suffering 我也是人 I'm human too 我看見人受苦 I see another human being suffering 我有一個心裡面惻隱之心 so a sense of empathy arises 所以人才是人 that's why we are human 一個看見別人受苦而沒有感動的人 we won't be moved when other people suffering 這個人不是人 then you are not human 第二樣 Secondly 孟子說第二句話 就是人有辭讓之心 你看見老人家的時候，你會禮讓別人 that we will give way to the weak and elderly Give way to the old people, to the weak people 對軟弱的、老的、需要的人，你會禮讓他 those who are in need, who are weak we give way to them 這個跟利害沒有關係 nothing to do with your own interests 因為當你要趕時間的時候 if you are in a rush 當你自己身體很疲倦的時候 if you feel tired 你在車上找到一個位置，你就可以坐下來了 you find a seat in a car, you can sit on it 但是你忽然間看到一個很年老的人，站都站不穩 but you see an olderly man who cannot stand very well 雖然你很疲倦，你就站起來了 although you are very tired you will give your seat to him 然後說：「伯伯，請坐吧！」 I will give the seat to you 當你把你的位置讓給他坐的時候 when you give the seat to him 你心裡面有一個很特別的平安 you feel a sense of peace in your heart 你心裡有一個特別的喜樂，是別人沒有的 a sense of special joy 這就是人尊貴的地方 this is what it means to be human 孟子說：第三樣 Mencius said number three 人不但有惻隱之心 not only do you have a sense of empathy 人不但有禮讓之心 not only do you give way to others 人還有羞惡之心 you also have a sense of shame 就是當你做錯事，你會自己感到羞恥 when you do evil you feel ashamed 「哎呀！我怎麼做這樣的事情？」 why did I do something like that? 「我怎麼可以講這樣的話？」 how can I say something like that? 「我怎麼可以對他有這樣的態度？」 how can I have such an attitude? 「我下一次不應當這樣做」 next time I won't do this 那麼這種羞惡的心，不是動物所有的 the sense of shame towards evil we don't see it in animals 所以老虎、獅子從來沒有這個東西 tigers, lions don't feel this 只有人有這個東西 only humans do 所以人之所以是人 for us to be human 因為人有這方面的功用 because we have these qualities 第四樣的事情 Fourthly 人有是非之心 that we have a sense of right and wrong 這是對的 this is right 這是錯的 this is wrong 我應當這麼做 I should do this 我不應當這麼做 I should not do that 你自己鞭策自己 you will inspire yourself 自己督責自己的時候 you will rebuke yourself 有一個標準在你裡面 you have a certain standard within you 那這些東西才使人成為人 these qualities define humanity 那麼這些在偉大的文化裡面 in great cultures 一定有表現的 you will see these express 希臘文化雖然沒有中國文化這樣富有人情 although Greek culture doesn't express humanity as much 沒有 humanity 這麼深的感動 it doesn't express humanity in such a deep way 但是至少講了一件事 at least it says men are not animals because human being are the only being with a rationality 人是唯一有理性的受造物 人能有理性功能 we have a sense of reason 所以人能夠思考 so we can think 人能夠分析 we can analyze 人能夠計算 we can calculate 人能夠評定 we can make judgements 這種理性功能，動物沒有的 the sense of reason you don't see it in animals 所以人超過萬有 so we transcend all creatures 而中國人又講一句比希臘人更深的話語 and the Chinese said something more profound than the Greeks 如果希臘有兩種理論 if there are two theories among the Greeks man is a rational being 人是理性的動物 第二 measuring being 人能夠衡量 that man can measure all things 所以這個希臘文叫做「homo mensura」 homo mensura in Greek 「homo mensura」man is the measure of all things 人就是萬物的標準 我們能夠衡量萬物 we can measure all things 使我們是人 because we are human 希臘人就停止在這兩方面 so the Greeks stopped at these two theories 中國人最深的一句話是什麼？ the Chinese said something more profound 人是萬物之什麼？ 萬物之靈 that we are the spirit of all things 靈性、性靈、靈感這些東西 才是人之所以為人的依據 spirituality is the basis of what it means to be human 所以當你研究人生哲學的時候 when you study human philosophy 你比較東西古今的文化 when you compare all cultures in all generations 那你就知道呢 東方的人有一些的思想是很高超的 you realize that the eastern people have some profound thoughts 我教哲學教了四十多年 I taught philosophy for over 40 years 然後我把這些東西跟聖經做一個比較的時候 when I compare these philosophies with the Bible 我發現沒有一種哲學能夠比聖經更高 I realize that no philosophy is greater than the Bible 因為聖經衡量人的時候 because when the Bible measures humanity 第一面就講了一句話 the first page says 人是按照上帝的 形象樣式造的 that man is created in the image and likeness of God 所以你說人是萬物之靈 so we say we are the spirit of the human realm 聖經的人是神的形象 the Bible said: We are the image of God 上帝是靈 God is Spirit 你有上帝的形象 you have the image of God 你這個靈不是被造的 this spirit is not created 是上帝創造的靈的形象 it is the image of God's Spirit 所以這樣基督教把人的地位提到了最高最高的地位 Christianity elevates the humanity to a much higher level 那這是創世的時候 this is during creation 聖經第一面就講出來了 the first page in the Bible 但是經過了幾千年 after thousands of years 人以為人在發展 human beings think that they are progressing 人在進步 then have advanced 結果發展到一個很笨的地步 they are so foolish now 就產生了進化論 so they think about evolution 進化論是科學 Evolution is scientific 進化論使我們人類進步了 so we have made progress 我告訴你，完全錯了！ I say you are totally wrong 進化論不是進化 Evolution is not 進化論是一個退化的記號 it's not making progress it's degenerate 因為到最後人才發現自己是猴子變來的 and you realize that you came from apes 人是從動物變來的 that we came from animals 所以基督教跟進化論 Christianity compare to evolution 在某一個狀況之下 within a certain situation 你做一個比較的時候 when you compare these two 你看見似是而非的世界中間 基督教是似非而是的真理 you see a lot of paradoxes within this 我今天不是從科學講 I'm not saying this from science 也不是從哲學講 nor from philosophy 我是從神的啟示來看科學的毛病跟哲學的缺點 by the frauds of philosophy and science from the word of God 為什麼我先把神的啟示 當作超過科學、超過哲學的制高點呢？ I first presuppose that the revolution of God is above all these things 還是 the highest point is the highest point transcends the science and philosophy 因為 science and philosophy are all discovered by man 因為科學和哲學都是人自己尋找出來的 science is to discover what have been hidden by God in His created nature 上帝隱藏在自然界中間的一些事理 我們把它找出來 we discover what God has created 是誰找的？ who does it? 人找的 humans 誰發現的？ who discovered it? 人發現的 human beings 用人的智力發現神造的真理 by human intelligence we discover God's truth 產生出來分門別類、一科一科的學 叫做科學 and then we categorize many fields of thoughts we call it science 所以科學是理性的發現 so it is our discovery from our reason 被發現的，是超理性的上帝的創造 what we are discovering is something that goes beyond transcends our reason 那麼，哲學是什麼呢？ What is philosophy? 是理性的思考 it is the rationality thinking 所以科學發現 science will discover 是理性發現 our reason discovers these things 哲學思考 philosophers we think with our reasons 而上帝是不是理性思考出來的呢？ is God a product of our thinking? 如果上帝是理性思考出來的 if God indeed is the product of our thinking? 那麼人的理性可能產生上帝 then our reason can produce God 但是上帝不是理性思考出來的 but God is not a product of reasons 上帝是產生理性、有思考功能的創造者 God is a creator who gives us the mind the reason to think about Him so God is not a result of human research 所以上帝不是我們思考的結果 God is the producer of the research functional reasoning 祂是產生我們的理性功能的上帝 the creator of our reason with the function to research 祂創造我們有理性功能 所以神的啟示一定有 transcendency 能夠思考 so God's revelation must be transcendent 這個 transcendent 的超越性 是超越了科學也超越哲學 transcends science and philosophy 今天很多人給科學這兩個字嚇壞了！ many people are intimidated by science 以為凡有科學的，就是進步的 they think that if you talk about science, that is progress 你讀聖經，你就是退步 if you read the Bible, you are not making progress 你在科學時代，你就是聰明的 you are in a scientific age, you are smart 你信宗教，你就是笨的 you are religious, you are foolish 共產黨就用這個辦法來評定宗教 the Communist people wanted to evaluate religions from this angle 所以他們就把宗教當作是時代已經過去的產品 so they think that religions are things of the past 科學才是現在最新的產品 science is the product of the modern era 他們先輕看宗教 they first despise religion 結果他們逼迫宗教幾十年以後 after persecuting religions for decades 發現完全不一樣了 they realized something different 因為過去他們把宗教當作迷信 in the past they thought that religions are superstitious 然後比較沒有教育的人就把迷信當作宗教 and uneducated people will take this superstition 經過一百年共產主義逼迫宗教以後 after persecuted by the Communist for 100 years 他們發現迷信跟宗教不一樣 they realized that superstition is different from religion 迷信是阻擋人類進步的 superstition will block your progress 但是真正的宗教是啟發人進步的 but true religion will inspire your progress 所以這個思想的改變 so this change of thoughts 這個意識形態的這個典範的轉移 this change in the paradigm and ideologies and the shift of the paradigm in ideology makes a lot of difference for the Communist attitude toward the religion 所以讓那些共產主義的人對宗教改觀 當然我們不是很深入的研究 of course we are not studying this in detail 但是這個可以啟發你 but it will inspire you 刺激你 stimulate you 更深入的思想有關的問題 to think about relevant issues 那麼我現在要把進化論跟基督教的啟示做一個比較 I want to make a comparison between Evolution and Christianity 外面來看 基督教是幾千年的東西，很落後 from the outside people think that Christianity is back dated 從表面來看 on the surface 進化論是最新興時代 不到一百多年的一個科學的發展 Evolution is a scientific discovery that is more recent 但是我告訴你，實質完全不是這樣 but in reality that is not true 為什麼呢？ Why? 因為基督教告訴我們：人原先是尊貴，後來墮落 Christianity says that we're originally with dignity but then we fell 而進化論告訴我們：人原先是不值一文的動物 後來變成今天這麼厲害 but Evolution says that originally we are not valueable but we make progress 所以這兩個觀念不同的地方在哪裡？ the difference between these two thoughts 進化論是從下到上 Evolution goes from the bottom to the top 基督教告訴我們：人是從上到下 Christianity says we came from the top to the bottom 而這是最大最大的理念上的不同 that's the greatest difference between these two 那麼這一點你看出來了 once you see this 你的人生價值也就開始建立起來 your value in life will be established 人本來是一文不值的動物嗎？ are we originally of no value? 我們是沒有文化的猴子嗎？ were we uncivilized apes? 我們是不懂穿衣服的野蠻的動物嗎？ were we barbarian animals without clothes? 後來慢慢我們學了、慢慢進化了 變成今天這麼厲害嗎？ is it true that we make progress, we learnt? 從現今社會來看 from this current society 人不但沒有進化 not only have we not make progress 人越來越退化 we have actually make regress 為什麼會同意同性戀結婚呢？ why do we now condone homosexual marriages? 同性戀結婚比動物都不如 this is even worst than animals 因為你很少看見母猴跟母猴結婚的 you don't see a female ape and a female ape come together 你沒有看見雄狗跟雄狗結婚的 or a male dog marrying a male dog 那牠們有個自然規律，牠們無意識中去遵守的 but they will incautiously follow a natural law 1976年的時候有一本雜誌叫做 Psychology Today Psychology Today in 1976 你們知道有這種雜誌嗎？ Do you know this magazine? 這個雜誌裡面有一個人 there was this person 養了一隻 chimpanzee and he had a chimpanzee 這個叫人猿喔！ 那麼他每天跟牠在一起生活，感情好到一個地步 and he had a good relationship with this chimpanzee 他是一個四十多歲的男人 he was a 40 over years old man 他把一隻小小的 baby chimpanzee 是雌性的從小養大 and he raised this female chimpanzee since it was a baby 然後這隻 chimpanzee 大到跟他個子一樣大的時候 and this chimpanzee became quite big 他忽然妙想天開 and suddenly he had a strange thought 他說：我很愛這隻人猿 I love this female chimpanzee 我從小把牠養大 I raised this chimpanzee 我是雄的、牠是雌的 I'm a male she's female 然後忽然間呢！ Suddenly! 盼望跟牠性交 wanted to have sex with this female chimpanzee 盼望跟這隻雌性的人猿性交 to have a sextual union with this animal 當他要跟這個雌性的人猿性交的時候 just when he was going to do that 這個雌性的人猿，無論如何拒絕 不要跟他在一起 this female chimpanzee rejected him 用各樣的辦法要強迫牠 and he tried to force it on it 牠大喊大叫 it screamed loudly 牠抗拒他 rejected him 牠逃走 ran away 他才知道沒有辦法 he realized he couldn't do it 那我看那篇文章到現在已經四十年了 it's been 40 years since I read that article 大概一九七幾年的事 1970's 我就想一個問題 I've been thinking 連動物都知道不應該做的事情 even the animals know that they shouldn't to this 人怎麼可以說「我要來做」呢？ how could we human beings to that? 這個叫做人在進步嗎？ are we making progress? 這個是進到墳墓的步，叫做進步 we are going into our graves 人是走死路一條 we are going to a dead end 那美國是世界最先進的國家 America is the super power in the world 竟然通過了同性戀結婚 yet we are condoning this 這是人類的進步嗎？ is this progress 但當你回到聖經的時候 when you return to the scripture 你發現真正的關鍵在乎 you realize the of crops the matter 人到底原來是尊嚴的？ lies in the human dignity 或者人原來是卑鄙的？ or were we despicable? 因為原來是高等的活物 were we creatures with dignity? 或是人是很低等的動物？ or are we just despicable animals? 嚴格地說起來 strictly speaking 人是人 we are human 動物是動物 animals are animals 人不是動物 humans are not animals 動物不是人 animals are not human 你之所以假想進化論是可能的 for you to think that evolution is possible 你因為先把人與動物的相似點放大 because you magnified the similarities between men and animals you magnified the similarities between animal and man from the outer from 從外型來假定 based on phenomenon and you magnified their similarities 但是一個智慧的人不是看見相同點 一定看見不同點 but the wise person would pay emphathy on the differences 如果兩樣東西好像一樣 if these two things are similar 你說：既然一樣，隨便亂用！ you say: Oh, they are similar, that's ok 那你就把猴子的血放在人的血裡面 or you put a monkey's blood into a human body 以後人就死了 and then the human will die 你把人血放在猴子裡面 or you put a human's blood into a monkey's body 猴子也死了 the monkey will die 因為很相像嘛！ they are similar 一個頭、一個頭 one head 兩個耳、兩個耳 two eyes, two ears 兩隻手、兩隻手 two hands 兩隻腳、兩隻腳 two legs 很像嘛！就換來換去嘛！ similar 反正都一樣嘛！ they are the same 你不是很聰明，你是神經病！ you are quite crazy to say that 因為一個真正智慧的人 a truly wise person will discover the differences 你會發現他們之間的不同 you discover and you realize the differences that is your wisdom 這是你的智慧，因為你看到他們之間的不同 你只看到相同點，你的思想是很膚淺的 you are quite shallow if you only see the similarities 笨人看相同點 a foolish person looks at the similarities 智慧人看不同點 a wise person looks at the differences 而不同點不是從 quantitative 的程度去看 and the differences are not based on quantitative you only understand the quantitative differences 如果只看到量的分別 your thinking is still very shallow 你的思想還是很膚淺 但如果你能看到 qualitative differences but you see the qualitative differences 你才是個 very smart thinker 那你就是聰明的人 你才是真正一個 very wise person then you are wise indeed 所以這個不同點在哪裡呢？ where are the differences? 在本質 in your quality 人與動物不同地方在哪裡？ differences between men and animals? 本質的不同 it's qualitative 不是份量的不同 not quantitative 份量的不同產生類別的這個觀念 the difference in quantity the concept of the difference simply because of the quantitative differences is started from those great philosophies 是從希臘哲學來的這個觀念 這個叫做 pluralism pluralism the pluralism 是要講什麼呢？ what does pluralism say? 就是萬物的形成 that the formation of all things 有最基本的因素 from the basic elements 從份量的不同產生品種的不同 based on quantitative differences you see different forms produced 所以這樣若份量相同，品種一定相同 if the quantities are all the same then all the species are the same 這個想法是很幼稚的想法 this is a very naive way of thinking 這個想法就從希臘人 this thought comes from the Greeks Atomism 開始的 Atomism 就是那些原子論的哲學家開始的 from the Atomism 他說：一切的一切構成的就是原子 so everything comes from atoms 每一個原子的份量是不一樣的 every atom has a different quantity 所以一粒花生 one peanut 裡面的原子的數量不多 not many atoms within that peanut 但是胡桃裡面的原子很多 a walnut there's more atoms 因為多就產生大 because the more atoms the bigger in size 少就產生小 fewer so smaller 但是你問他們 為什麼花生更香呢？ but why does the peanut tastes better? 為什麼胡桃更甜呢？ the walnut taste sweeter 那麼香跟甜之間，是不是份量多呢？ difference between fragrance and sweetness is it quantitative? 他就不能回答了 and they can't answer you 為什麼葡萄很酸呢？ why are grapes sour? 為什麼芒果又酸又甜呢？ mango is both sweet and sour? 是份量產生的嗎？ is it because of quantitative differences? 所以農夫告訴你 the farmers will say to you 你這個傻瓜啊！ you are foolish! 不是份量不同 it's not quantitative 品種不同！ different species 因為 different species, different kind of life 不同的種類 produce a different phenomenon 所以有不同的現象產生 different tastes 不同的味道 所以這些農作人哪！ all these farmers 農夫他們就比那些數學家更注意到 品種超過份量的問題 so they will emphasize more than the mathematicians on the qualitative differences 到了十九世紀的時候 by the 19th century 有一個人叫做 Søren Aabye Kierkegaard,1813-1855 Kierkegaard 這個人是一個丹麥人 he is from Danmark 他第一次強調 qualitative difference he stressed the importance of the qualitative difference 這個東西使你有智慧超過所有的知識 this will give you wisdom far beyond many kinds of knowledge 所以我現在跟你談的人性啊！ so when I talk to you about humanity 我不接受進化論 I don't accept evolution 因為進化論先假設是同一個品種 慢慢演化變成不大一樣的所有的品種 because he presupposes that one species will produce many many species 而且他再假設 and he presupposes 每一個品種都可以變化的 every species can evolve 這個變化中間都是橋樑 there are bridges between every stage 所以從貓變成狗、狗變成老虎 什麼都可以改變的 all kinds of species 而這個不是聖經的話 this is not from the Bible 聖經創世紀第一章 Genesis chapter one says 有十次講同樣一句話 10 times something is mentioned after it's 什麼？After it's kind 各從其類 After it's own kind After it's kind! 照它的類 而照出來的 after it's kind it's created 這是幾次啊？ how many times? 創世紀第一章，十次 Genesis one: Ten times 單單創世紀第一章，十次 Just Genesis one: Ten times 為什麼呢？Why? 上帝早知道：人笨到一個地步，要胡鬧了！ so God knew beforehand that men are so foolish 所以先把這句話寫下去 He first wrote all these down 使你沒有辦法抵抗祂 so that you cannot oppose Him 因為各從其類就表示這一類不是那一類 after it's kind means this kind is not that kind 所以不能有變化的 you cannot evolve 所以到了十九世紀的時候 in 19th century 有一個人跟達爾文(Charles Robert Darwin,1809-1882) 一同建立進化論 someone together with Darwin established evolution 這個人比達爾文年輕很多 he was much younger that Darwin 但是當他寫一些論文的時候 when he wrote some theses 達爾文發現：他的論文 跟達爾文的思想有很多相同的地方 Darwin realize that his theses is quite similar to his own 他很驚奇後生可畏 and he thought this young man is great How come this young man so smart? 所以他把他叫來 這個年輕人這麼聰明 so he summon him 後來他們一同寫了一本書 so they wrote a book 叫做 The Principles Of Biology The Principles Of Biology 而這一個人呢 this person 也曾經成為一個很偉大的思想家 he was once a great thinker 那這個人講了一句話 he said between non-existence and existence 在存在還有不存在之間 第一 Firstly between existence and life 就是存在和生命之間 第三 Thirdly between lives and human being 生命和人類之間 there are three gaps 有三個鴻溝 沒有就是沒有 if there's nothing, there's nothing 有就是有 if there's something, there's something 這一個鴻溝 the gulf between them there's something 生命就是生命 life is life 中間第二個鴻溝 second gulf 人就是人 being human is being human 第三個鴻溝 the third gulf 這三個鴻溝 no one can make bridges to join them 我們不可以建任何的橋來連接這些鴻溝 所以這是沒有辦法的事情 you cannot bridge the gulf 所以從這一句話來說 from these statements 這個人名叫 Alfred Russel Wallace, 1823-1913 his name is Wallace W-A-L-L-A-C-E Wallace 這個人呢！已經想了最重要的基點 he thought about a few fundamental points 就是從無變有 from nothing to something 人沒有辦法做到 human being cannot do that 從有變成生命 from matter to life 人沒辦法做到 we cannot do it 有生命變成人 from life to being human 人也沒辦法做到 無變成有 from nothingness to creation 這一句話，我們在所有文化都看不見 we don't see this in other cultures 但是在聖經裡面我們看見一個觀念 but in the Bible we see this concept 就是我們基督徒的神學講過的一句話 we see this in Christian theologgy 叫做 creatio ex nihilo creatio ex nihilo creatio 就是 creation 就是創造 ex 就是 from 就是從 nihilo 就是 nothingness 就是無 so God created everything from nothingness 上帝從無創造萬有 從沒有，上帝創造變成有 God created everything from nothing 這一個觀念 this concept 是希伯來文化對全世界五大貢獻的第一個 this is one of the five contributions of Hebrew culture the first contribution among five greatest contributions of the Jewish culture in the world culture 這一點我今天不詳細的談了 I won't going to detail here 那麼這個第一點 that's the first point 就是從無變有，叫做創造 Creation: From nothing to something 創造這個觀念，在印度教裡面有嗎？ do you see this in Hinduism? 模糊的 it's obscure 在中國的文化裡面有嗎？ in Chinese culture? quite obscure 在西方的文化裡面有嗎？ Western culture? also obscure 無論巴比倫文化 Babylonian culture 敘利亞文化 the Syrian culture 亞述文化 the Assyrian culture 無論是埃及文化 Egyptian culture 羅馬文化 Roman culture 希臘文化 Greek culture 都是模模糊糊的 you see obscure interpretations 但是在希伯來文化裡面 in the Jewish culture 上帝從「沒有」 God created 創造了「有」 everything from nothing 全世界一定要注意這一句話 everyone must take notice 因為這表示存在是有根基的 it means that existence has a basis 存在不是自然而然飄來的 it doesn't come naturally 是從一位創造主 from a creator 用祂的能力 by His power 用祂的話語 by His word 結合起來 產生出來的 combine everything to produce everything 那麼話語跟能力 His word and His power combine together 這個什麼意思呢？ what does this mean? 就是聖經所講的：上帝所講的話 沒有一句是不帶什麼？ Bible says? 不帶什麼？ every word from God 不帶能力的 comes with power 所以當 Einstein, 1879-1955 到了二十世紀才明白一件事情 Einstein realize this in the 20th century 就是能見界、不能見界會互換 that the visible world and the invisible world interchangeable interchangeable world between the visible and the invisible 那麼能見界的世界叫做物質 the visible world is matter 不能見的世界 the invisible world 叫做非物質 is non material 或者叫做靈界 spiritual world 或者叫做無所知界 or the agnostic world agnostic world agnostic world I cannot know! 不能知的 the invisible world is spiritual 是靈界 non material 是非物質 I cannot see it 我看不見 所以在看的見跟看不見世界中間 so between these two worlds 有一個 interchangeable 的 possibility there are interchangeable possibilities 所以如果你問 Einstein so if you ask Einstein what is the interchangeable possibilities of these two worlds? 這兩個境界之間是怎麼互換呢？ 他就很清楚地告訴你 he will say to you energy and measurments 就是能量和物質 energy 是看不見的 energy is invisible 但是這一個 mass 是可以看得見的 but mass is visible 所以從能量變成物質 so from energy to become matter 有一個定律 there is a certain law 那定律是增加了幾萬萬倍 this multiplied millions of times 這個叫做 m is equal to, e is equal to 什麼？ E = mc² 我很不明白為什麼他這麼寫？ I don't understand how he came up with this 如果他要更好的寫，應該寫說 什麼呢？ maybe he should of say 不是 E is equal to mc² 他應該寫 m is equal to E over c² he should say m equal to E over c² why so? 是從不能見到能見 because from the invisible to the visible 所以 E is invisible so E is invisible mass is visible 物質是能見的 所以從不能見到能見 so from the invisible to the visible world 這個是叫做創造 this is creation 從能見到不能見 from the visible to the invisible 這個叫做爆炸 this is explosion 你注意聽喔！ pay attention! 這塊物質 this piece of matter 爆炸以後呢！ when it explodes 它就變成非常大的能 it becomes a great field of energy 那你把它爆炸完了以後 after the explosion 你能不能收回來？ can you retrieve it? 你能不能把那個能量收回來，變成原來一塊物質？ can you retrieve the energy and form the mass again? is it possible? 可以嗎？ 這不可能，對不對？ It's not possible 所以你就想一個問題 so you think about this 怎麼「物」可以變成「能」？ how does matter become energy? 為什麼「能」不能變成「物」？ why energy cannot become matter? 但是如果這是 interchangeable 如果是能互換的話 who is the one that can change energy into mass? 誰能把能量變成物質呢？ 能把能量變成物質的 who can change energy into mass? 只有上帝 only God 而上帝用祂的話造了世界 by His word He created all things 這是希伯來書第十一章告訴我們 what we see in Hebrews 11 上帝藉著祂的話創造了世界 Through His word God created the world 而祂的話是帶有能量的 His word comes with power 因為沒有一句上帝的話是沒有能力的 not a single word of His doesn't come with power within the word of God 在上帝的話裡 it contains the unmeasurable energy 是無法測量的能量 所以這個能量變成物質 becomes matter 這是可能的 this is possible 所以聖經是唯一一本，不但合乎科學 又可以批判科學不對地方的書 so Bible is the only book that not only agrees with science but can critic science 然後今天你讀一點科學，你以為聖經很落後 我告訴你：你很笨！ you are quite foolish to think that your scientific knowledge is better than the Bible 每一個時代要把聖經丟在背後 every era wants to abandon the Bible 最後是聖經，把每一個時代丟在背後 in the end it's the Bible that abandons every generation 因為每一個時代都是會過去的 'cause every generation will pass away 只有上帝是永遠不過去的！ only God lives forever 所以你不要用永恆的上帝 來貶低祂的身分 讓暫時的科學，站在上帝的話的上面 do not allow science to be the substitute for the eternal God 上帝用道創造萬有 萬物是藉著祂造的 all things were made through Him 凡被造之物，沒有一樣不是藉著祂造的 among all things that were made nothing was not made through Him 所以道才是源頭 so the word is the source 而「道」裡面隱藏著「能」 in the word, there's power 因為上帝的話沒有一句不帶能力的 every word of his comes with power 所以用上帝的「能」 產生能見的「物」 every thing in matter is produced 這個叫做 creatio ex nihilo 這裡所講的 nihilo 不是上帝的道不存在叫做 nihilo nihilo doesn't mean God's word doesn't exist 這裡的 nihilo 是 invisible world, we see nothing 我們什麼都看不見 we cannot see the invisible world 所以，你只能說 in my eyes, it is nihilo 你只能說：從我的眼睛來看，沒有東西 nihilo 但是從神的能量來說 but from God's perspective that is existing energy from God's word 那是存在的能量，從上帝的世界 是上帝用祂的道造萬有的時候 by His word when He created all things 物質的世界就形成了 the material world was formed 所以物質的世界是「造」而來的 the material world was created 而「造」是從看不見變成看的見的 creation came from an invisible world producing the visible 所以我剛才說愛因斯坦那個方程式 應當是 E is equal to m over c²才對 so I say Einstein should say that E equals to m over c² 但是你現在轉過來也沒有錯 but it's not wrong to turn it the other way around 因為從物理學的方程式來看 from physics m is equal to E over c² 跟 E is equal to mc² 是一樣的道理 these two are the same actually 所以這個問題是看得見、看不見 so it's the matter of which one comes first 從看不見變成看得見 from the invisible to the visible 這個叫做創造 大家說！一、二、三 從看不見 invisible 到看得見 to the visible 這個叫做 this is? 創造 creation 反過來 the other way around 從看得見 from the visible 變成看不見 to the invisible 這個叫做使用 this is to make use of it 這個叫做 util to utilize it utilize 你從能看見的物質 from the matter 爆炸它 that is visible 變成看不見的能量 explodes, it become energy that is invisible 就變成原子能的工廠 and it become a atomic factory 原子能的物理作用 or atomic function 而這樣就變成實用的 then you are utilizing the energy 所以上帝創造萬有 God created all things 讓人去使用 so that we can utilize it 造石油 He made oil 使你汽車可以開動 so that you can drive your cars 造煤炭 coals 使你的灶火可以生出來 so that you can have fire in your stove 造原子能 atomic energy 使你可以產生很大的動力 you can produce energy 所以神從「能」化成「物」 so God produce everything from energy 人從「物」化成「能」 but we produce energy from everything 問題是什麼呢？ The question is 人能夠從看的見的化成看不見的力量 that our ability to produce energy but we cannot make it reverse but we cannot reverse the process 因為這是神才能造的工作 because only God can do it 所以上帝是創造者 God is the creator 當上帝造萬有的時候 when God created all things 是按照祂的旨意 is by His will 祂是按照祂的時間 by His timing 成為美好 God created everything in perfect condition 上帝創造一切 那麼完美的情況 according to His time 按照祂的時間 但上帝永遠的旨意 His eternal will 人是不能明白的 we cannot understand 所以這樣創造界 沒有給我們一切的答案 so the material world doesn't give us all the answers 我再講一次喔！ I'll say again 上帝使萬有按其時成為美好 God created all things and made it beautiful such a beautiful creation is created by God according to His time but the eternal will of God, no one can know 但是祂永恆的旨意，我們不能了解 這告訴我們什麼呢？ what does this say? 自然界是上帝的創造 the natural world is God's creation 但是上帝的創造不能給我們最深的奧秘 but God's creation cannot give us a deeper mistery 最深的奧秘需要上帝的啟示 we need the revelation of God 上帝告訴我們 God says to us 祂怎麼造？ how He creates 我們才知道 then we understand God tells us 造了什麼用？ what's the purpose? 我們才明白 你今天用手錶的人 when you make use of a watch 你可以研究他怎麼做成功？ you can study how the watch was made 但是最先怎麼想 把這些物質變成能動、能算時間的手錶 那個智慧 如果他不告訴你，你沒辦法曉得 but the thinking processes and the underline wisdom you cannot know 所以造了萬有以後呢？ after He created all things 最後才創造人 in the end He created man the man is the final creation of God 人是上帝最後的創造 為什麼上帝最後才創造人？ why did He create man the last? 因為人最重要 because man is the most important 所以最後才造人 He created him last 如果人不是最重要 if he is not the most important 任何時刻都可以創造的 He could of created him earlier 但是神要先什麼都造完了以後 but He have to create everything else first 才把人造出來 and then a human being was created 這樣做呢！人是尊貴的 so human has dignity and glory 人是榮耀的 人是有目的的 we have a purpose 這又是希臘的藝術品沒有辦法明白的事情 we don't see these in Greek art 他們只有告訴我很美麗 they only tell you: I'm beautiful 這樣美麗活在世界做什麼？ what's the purpose of my existence? 女孩子說：美麗的意義 就是等漂亮男生來娶我就是這樣了 or I'll wait for someone to marry me 那麼你活著就是這樣嗎？ is that you purpose in life? 我就是這樣！ that's my purpose 除了這樣以外呢？ other then that? 沒有別的目的 no other purpose 那麼你到聖經裡面的時候 but when you come to the Bible 我發現上帝造人不是單單如此 you realize that God created man for a higher purpose 因為上帝祂有個很偉大的目的放在裡面 God has placed a higher purpose in you 這個真正的目的 His true purpose 是跟意義連在一起的 is linked to meaning 而真正的意義 the true meaning 是跟永恆連在一起 is linked to eternity 那這句話你注意聽喔！ take note of this 因為這些話裡面的意思很深的 very profound indeed 為什麼這麼說呢？ why do we say that? 真正的意義 true meaning 是跟永恆連在一起的 is linked with eternity 真正的價值 true value is linked with meaning 如果你沒有跟永恆的意義連在一起 if you are not linked to the eternal meaning 那一下子就完了 then things will not last 這就是變得很膚淺的唯物論的哲學了 and you become a shallow materialist 唯物論的哲學，死了就完了嘛！ shallow materialist say that everything is over 死了就不存在了嘛！ after you die everything is over 所以你多麼有錢，也就完了！ no matter how wealthy you are 沒有錢，也完了！ or poor you are 你多麼美，也完了！ or how beautiful you are 你多麼聰明，也完了！ or how smart you are 反正死了就完了 everything will past away 我問你 I ask you 真的死了就完了嗎？ is that the truth? 我問你啊？ let me ask you after you die, everything ends? 你死了，完了嗎？ is it the end after you die? 你哪裡甘願死了就完了！ you're not willing for this to be true 我們不甘願死了就完了！ we don't want this to be true 但很不甘願老了很難看 we are not willing to see ourselves age 所以我們年輕的時候 when we are young 個個像 apple 一樣的 we look like apples 當你老的時候 when you are old 你像 Kentucky fired chicken 一樣 your skin is all wrinkled 你看自己慢慢老的時候 when you see yourself age 你很不甘願 you don't like it for you 我從前不是這樣！ I wasn't like that before 我從前好漂亮！ I was so pretty 我好英俊！ I was so handsome! 我好光潤 my skin was so smooth 現在我變成像 turkey 一樣 now I look like a turkey 那個像 Kentucky fried chicken 一樣 like a fried chicken 然後你說死就完了嗎？ is that the end after you die? 你不服輸！ 我要做一些事影響世界 you say: I want to do things that will impact the world 我要成就一些事 I want accomplish some things 使人尊重我 that will make people honor me 人死留名 that my name will last 什麼意思呢？ 讓人紀念我 that people will remember me 我做了一些事 I have done certain things 有意義的 that have meaning 你現在講意義了！ and you talk about meaning 為什麼人會講意義呢？ why do we talk about meaning at all? 狗不講意義的 dogs don't talk about it 只講今天吃什麼 they talk about food 死了就完了 after they die that's the end 人死了就完了嗎？ after we die, is it the end? 如果人死了就完了！ if indeed that's true 那麼共產黨都在說謊 then the communist are lying 因為他們知道人死了就完了 if they know that it's the end after they die 那麼劉少奇死了，他要把他平反 when Liu Shaoqi died, they want to see redress 為什麼平反他？ 因為知道死了沒有完 because they knew that wasn't the end 還要讓他的子孫得安慰 they wanted his descendants to be comforted 讓百姓紀念他的功勞 they wanted the people to remember him 所以劉少奇被鬥臭、鬥到完了！ when Liu Shaoqi was denounced badly 死了！ a serious blows in his life 他們認為不應該如此 after he died 我替他平反 they wanted to see justice for him 如果人死了就完了，為什麼要平反？ if death is really the end, why do we seek justice? 他最後死的時候就是這樣 when he die he's reduced to this 他皺得像鬼的臉孔在下面 wrinkled like the devil's face 就在他的腳的下面 his head is at his feet 就在旁邊，他上面頭是蠟做的 the head that you see is made of wax 就像 Madame Tussauds 那種博物館 just like in Madame Tussauds 在那裡笑笑的看著你 he's smiling at you, looking at you 那這個事情已經一兩百年了 it's being about two hundred years 毛澤東死的時候 when Mao Zedong died 大家知道 everybody knows 不可能保存身體 they couldn't preserve his body 所以北京共產黨頭頭 so the head of the Beijing Communist Party 他們對北京的玻璃廠發一道命令 they issued a command to a glass factory 請你們做一種玻璃 please manufacture a glass 可以透光 where light can go through 不可以透熱 but heat can't go through 哇！這個很殘忍的要求 it's a very cruel requirement 透光不能透熱 light can go through but heat cannot go through 而你可以用 velcro 的東西把它黏起來 and you can use velcro to paste it 熱度就減少很多了 then the heat will decrease 但是沒有辦法 then you'll prevent heat 我們知道北京玻璃是世界最著名的 we know that the Beijing glass are the most famous 在三、四百年前 300, 400 years ago 西方玻璃廠還不懂得怎麼做的時候 even when the western glass factories couldn't do it 我們中國人已經做琉璃啊！ the Chinese could produce a special kind of glass 琉璃在古董裡面叫做「料」 這個叫做「料」，你就說好了 in Chinese it's called Liao in antique world it's called liao 材料的那個料 這個東西很特別的 it's a special kind of material in antique world 在我的博物館裡面，我放了好幾個 in my own museum I have a few pieces 那麼這種玻璃的功用 the function of this glass 跟普通的不一樣 is different from normal glasses 但是還是沒有辦法 but they still couldn't do it 所以北京限定在多少天裡面 so the Beijing government issued a command 一定要把這個玻璃做成功 within certain amount of days you must produce this glass 玻璃廠的那些股東、那些老闆跟設計的人 all the bosses, the shareholders, the designers 想破頭都沒有辦法 of the factory were thinking hard 結果他們做了一個相當好的玻璃 so they manufactured a certain glass that is quite good 光完全透進去 light can totally go through 熱進去很少 heat can only go through a little bit 但是那個燒的時候呢 but when they burn it 出來的毒煙你吸了，你就會死 the toxic gases will kill you 所以他們最後造了一個很高很高的煙囪 so they made a very high chimney 超過二十層樓高 more than 20 storeys high 把那個毒氣放到上面去消散 to dissipate the toxic gases 讓它毒死鳥，不要毒死人 the birds will die, the humans won't die 那後來玻璃做成功了 so they made the glass 把毛澤東的屍體放在裡面 Mao Zedong's body was in case with it 放在毛澤東的墳墓裡面了 in his grave 那麼到現在每天還有幾千個人去看 everyday till today, thousands of people will come to see 然而，現在看到的毛澤東遺體 now when you see his body 是不是原來那一個遺體呢？ is it the same as the original? 當然是原來那個遺體 of course it's the same one 但是呢 however 很多不一樣的地方 many differences 因為每天爛掉一點 everyday you see a little bit of decay 掉下來 要再用東西把它補上去 need to patch it up 又再掉下來 再補上去 falls 朽壞的 decayed 就是朽壞的 something that will decay corruptible one is the corruptible body is corruptible one forever forever 沒有辦法 you cannot change it 因為人一定要朽壞 we must see decay 死以後 after we die 朽壞就開始 the corruption will happen 只有耶穌基督 only Jesus Christ 上帝不許可祂見朽壞 God will not allow Him to see decay 也不把祂的靈魂撇在陰間 and His soul will not be in hades 祂從死裡面復活過來了 He was resurrected 好，那我現在問你啊！ 人到底有什麼價值？ what value is there in human life? 如果你活在世界幾十年 living in this world for decades 你沒有跟永恆的意義結連在一起 if there's no relationship with eternal value 你的生活就完全沒有價值 then your life has no meaning 所以基督教談的是永恆 so Christianity talks about eternity 基督教談的是意義 meaning 而不是你的價值觀，用錢財來衡量 is not based on your value system, not based on money 你賺多少錢 no matter how much money you make 也不能帶去 you cannot take anything away 有多少財富，不等於你的價值 doesn't measure your value 人的價值在哪裡呢？ where does your value lie? 在於人的尊嚴 in human dignity 人的尊嚴在哪裡呢？ where is human dignity? 上帝的形象 based on God's image 真正上帝的形象是誰啊？ God's true image is? 是耶穌基督 Jesus Christ 所以人是按照上帝的形象樣式造的 so man is created in God's image and likeness 有這個，人才叫做人 that's how humanity is defined 沒有這個 without this 人不是人 we are not human at all 人是殭屍 we are just like zambies 所以人的神的形象 our image 不是在人的身體裡面 God's image is not in our bodies 人神的形象 在神的本性裡面 is in God's attributes 神是公義的 He is just 神是聖潔的 He is holy 神是良善的 He is good 神是誠實的 神是慈愛的 He is honest, He is loving 這些東西 all these attributes 在希臘神話裡面沒有！ you don't see these in Greek mythologies 在中國的聖人裡面沒有！ you don't see these among the Chinese saints 而人都犯罪 we all have sinned 聖人都犯罪 all saints have sinned 聖人還有三分錯 all saints have sinned in some ways 孰能無罪？罪惡能改，善莫大焉 he said that everyone has sinned as long as you repent, that's OK 這個是孔子所講的 Confucius said that 所以人真正的尊嚴 our true dignity 不是在聖人的裡面 doesn't lie in the saints 在基督裡面 it's in Christ 因為基督是上帝的形象 because He is the image of God 人是按照上帝的形象而被造 and we have been created in His image and likeness 所以當你能夠把上帝的公義彰顯出來 when you can display God's justice 你把上帝的聖潔彰顯出來 display God's holyness 你把上帝的慈愛彰顯出來 God's love 你才是尊嚴的 then you are man of dignity 這不是動物進化可能產生的 this is not produced by evolution of animals 這不是進化論的結果 this is not a product of evolution 這是上帝原先的創造 this is God's original creation 親愛的弟兄姊妹 dear brothers and sisters 你知道你是誰嗎？ do you know who you are? 上帝創造你的時候 when God created you 是把尊嚴放在你身上 God placed dignity in you 所以你不是動物 you are not an animal 你跟所有的動物沒有關係 you have no relationships with animals 你是神按照自己的形象樣式造的 you have been created in God's image and likeness 所以今天我們對於傳道 so to the pastors 他不是對你說教 we are not preaching 不是對你講到聖經裡面 許多世人所以為的宗教理念那些東西 we are not just preaching certain religious things 我要告訴你聖經原先神的旨意，就是這樣 I want to tell you that 上帝造人 that God's original will 是按照祂的形象造人 He created man in His image 而這個形象裡面的尊嚴 the dignity within this image 跟許多基督徒所認識的不一樣 is different from what many Christians think 我舉個很簡單的例子 a simple example 因為上帝是聖潔的 because God is holy 所以人有良心 therefore we have conscience 你沒有辦法過一個不聖潔的生活而自己感到滿足 you cannot live an unholy life and still feel good about yourself 就只有當你過一個聖潔的生活的時候 when you live a holy life 你達到人性的尊嚴的時候 你才感到做人是滿足的 then you feel the dignity of being a man 因為上帝是公義的 God is just 所以祂把法性放在你裡面 so He had placed the law within you 人性的尊嚴 the human dignity 在乎你懂得什麼叫做法性 lies in knowing what is lawful 法性是法律的基礎 being lawful is the basis of all laws, legal systems 像樂理是音樂的基礎一樣 it's just like the law of music is the basis of music 像文法是文學的基礎一樣 laws of language is the basis of literature 文法是存在的 the laws of language 所以當你的文字照著這個法律的規定去行的時候 when your words are formed based on these laws 你的文學就走在正途中間 then your literary works are done properly 當你的音樂照著樂理的原則去寫的時候 when your music is done based on certain laws 你的音樂可以長久存留 then your music is lasting 而這些東西 these things 就是在現象裡面的本質 is the essence underline the phenomenon 而人的現象就是一個肉體 base on the phenomenon, we are a physical body 人裡面的本質，就是我們有人性、有靈魂 but in essence, we have a human spirit 而這個人性、這個靈魂就是按照上帝的形象樣式造的 spirit, human nature is based on God's image 所以當耶穌基督到世界上來的時候 when Jesus Christ came into the world 祂說：你們要學我的樣式 He said: You must be like me 你們要負我的軛 you must bear my yoke 你們要擔負我的重擔 bear my burden 你們要跟從我 follow me! our dignity 在當你認識基督以後 就開始收回來了 you restore it when you know Christ human dignity 在原先的創造已經給你了 has been given to you in the original creation 所以親愛的朋友 dear friends 你是尊貴的 you are dignified 你是榮耀的 you are glorious 因為你是按照上帝的形象樣式造的 because you are created in the image and likeness of God 請問今天你像樣不像樣？ are you living according to that image? 你像樣不像樣？ are you living accordingly? Are you like your God? 你像你的上帝嗎？ 你像你上帝的形象嗎？ 上帝是聖潔的 God is holy 你是骯髒污穢的 you are filthy 上帝是公義的 你是不義的 you are unjust 上帝誠信真實的 God of integrity 你是假冒虛謊的 but yet you are hypocrites 你今天不但不像上帝 not only are you not like God 你不像人 you are not like human 你甚至比野獸更不如 sometimes worst than animals 所以當一個人犯罪的時候 when a person sins 我們罵他：你像禽獸一樣！ we say that "you are like a beast" 當你罵一個人「你像禽獸一樣」的時候 when you say this to someone 你不要以為你在侮辱他 don't think that you're insulting him 你在侮辱全世界的禽獸 you're insulting all the beasts 因為禽獸吃飽了就安靜下來了 because the beasts will just sleep after they eat 人吃飽了還繼續貪、繼續搶 繼續誘惑別人 繼續欺騙別人的財產 but human beings do all kinds of evil after eating their food 所以當一個人知道他尊貴的時候 when a man knows that he has dignity 他回頭到上帝面前 he returns to God 重新拾回神給他的尊貴榮耀 to restore himself to the dignity of man 他就非常有價值 then he's a man of value 當一個人失去他的尊貴 when he loses his dignity 失去他的榮耀 he loses his glory 他從這個原來的地位掉下來的時候 he has fallen from the original status 他是比禽獸都不如 he is worst than beasts 所以今天，你要從進化論跟神的創造 兩樣東西中間選一樣，做你的信仰 so you must make a choice between evolution and Christianity 我剛才對你講的最重要的原則 the important principals of 進化論跟聖經不同的地方 the differences between Bible and evolution 聖經說你是從最尊貴的地位掉下來的 the Bible says that you have fallen from the highest status 而進化論說你是從最野蠻的野獸升上來的 but evolution says that you have came up from a lowest form 你說哪一個對呢？ which one is true? 人真的是從野獸進化到變成這麼文明的人嗎？ have we really evolve from barbaric forms of life? 今天所謂最文明的人 the most civilized people 可以做出比野獸更可怕的事情 can commit evil that are worst than beasts 在加州有個很著名的大學叫做 Berkeley 大學 in California there's a university Berkeley 十五年以前 15 years ago 這個大學的校長是中國人 the principal of UC Berkeley was a Chinese 那一年在裡面教書的中國教授有兩百六十四個人 there were 264 Chinese professors there 你說這麼大的大學 such a big university 有幾千個講師 thousands of lecturers 兩百多個中國人在裡面 more than 200 were Chinese 而校長是中國人 and the principal was a Chinese 有一天，就在那幾年發生一些事情 within those few years something happened 許多很美麗的女孩子給人強姦以後就殺死 強姦、殺死、強姦、殺死 many pretty women were raped and killed 所以在加州大學，這個 Berkeley 大學附近 人人自危 in the vicinity of UC Berkeley everyone was scared 特別比較漂亮的女孩子 those who are more pretty 晚上都不敢出門 at night, they didn't dare go out 因為每幾天就一次，一個女人不見了 every few days, something like this will happen 不見的都是漂亮的女孩子 all the pretty women will disappear 再發現就是屍體，被丟在河裡面 and then their bodies will be discovered in the river 丟在樹的旁邊 in bushes 結果一直找，找不到 they couldn't find the culprit 結果發生了六十多次女人被強姦暗殺以後 there were more than 60 cases of women been raped and killed 加州警察終於找到一個人了 the police found someone 找到這個人以後呢 after they found the culprit 照片登出來 the photograph was published 沒有一個人相信 no one could believe 文質彬彬 he look proper 有非常清秀的面孔 he look handsome 非常整齊的鬍鬚 he look neat, pruned, proper 這個人是誰呢？ Who was he? 就是 Berkeley 大學的一個教授 one of the professors in UC Berkeley 一個教授，白天作教授 晚上變成野獸 a professor in the day and a beast at night 早上教書，晚上強姦 in the morning he will teach, at night he will rape 一個一個美麗的學生都被他殺死 one by one they were raped and killed 你認為人真的進化了嗎？ have we really made progress? 人真的從最野蠻的動物進化變成現在很文明的人種？ have we evolved to become more civilize from being barbarian? 聖經持定完全不同的看法 the Bible has a different view totally 人是墮落的 Man is fallen 人不是進步的 we have not made progress 今天進化論跟聖經不同的地方 the differences between evolution and the Bible 在人類學的方面上 in our study of the human world 是違背了上帝的旨意 we have gone against God's will 因為聖經告訴我們：人原先是最尊貴榮耀的活物 because the Bible says that originally we were made with dignity and glory 人原先是按照上帝的形象樣式被造的 according to God's image and likeness 人有真理的功用 we have the function of the truth 理性的探討 reason 人有德性的衡量 we have the ability to measure ethics 我們有善惡的分別 to tell between right and wrong 人還有法性的判斷 being lawful 我們知道什麼叫做對的；什麼叫做不對的 we know what it means to be right, to be wrong 什麼叫做善的；什麼叫做惡的 what is good, what is evil 什麼是應該判定的；什麼是應當追隨的 what must to be judged and what not to be 什麼是應當研究、應當分析的 what needs to be studied and analyzed 人不但有這些 not only do we have all these attributes 我還增加了許多神本性中間，成為人原版的那個樣式 and there are many attributes of God that are found in the human nature 神是主 God is the Lord 所以上帝把自主權放在裡面 God has placed the ability to rule in us 人是唯一有 self-controlling power being man is the only creature with self-control man have the dignity 我們有尊嚴 man have the sovereignty 我們有自主性 man have the freedom 我們有自由 you know how to manage yourself 我們知道怎麼管理自己 you know how to have your self-control 我有自制 這是上帝的形象 all these are the attributes of God 不但如此 not only so 上帝是創造主 所以上帝造人的時候 when He created man 人性裡面有創造性 we have the ability to create in us 這是非常尊貴的東西 this is really glorious 為什麼人的科學在進步？ why is science progressing? 因為這是創造性的應用 this is the result of using our creativity when you utilize your creativity 當你運用你的創造性的時候 you proved that you are created after God's image 就是證明你是上帝形象的創造 because God is the originality of creation 因為上帝是起初的創造者 God is subjectivity of the creativity 祂是創造性的本體 so when God created man 使你有創造性 He gave you creativity 所以人會發明 so we can invent things 超過發現 and discovering things 發現 is discovering something already existed 發現就是發現那些本來就存在的東西 but invent 當你發明的時候 is to see and to create something that have never happened before 就是要創造一些還沒有的事物 這個就是人有創造性 so we have creativity 所以人像上帝 so we are like God 這樣的尊貴 such dignity 這樣的榮耀 such glory 是在你生命的裡面的 is found in your life 但是我請問你 今天你活得像人嗎？ Are you living like God? Like God? No! 耶穌說：「撒但，退去吧！」 Jesus: Satan, get behind me! 因為耶穌知道 Jesus knew 祂的價值觀不是物質 that His value system doesn't lie in the material world 今天很多人看見錢就搖尾巴了 many people wag their tails when they see money 看見物質就屈膝 when they see things of the material world 你的價值系統是混亂的 they compromise your value systems are confused 耶穌基督看見窮人的時候 When Jesus Christ saw the poor 祂有拒絕嗎？ did He reject them? 耶穌看見病人的時候 when He saw the sick 祂有輕看嗎？ did He despise them? 耶穌看見社會所不要的人 when He saw the abandoned people of the world 祂親近他們 He got close to them 祂接近他們 周遊四方行善事 and He went all over the place to help them 醫治凡被撒旦挾制的人 and healed those who were possessed by the demons 最後為人類的緣故，被釘在十字架上 and for the sake of humanity was crucified on the cross 以重價把我們的靈魂買贖回來 and with a heavy price redeemed our lives 你研究價值觀的時候 if you understand value 你就在基督的身上看見，你的價值要怎麼回頭 you realize what value it is in your life 你研究道德觀的時候 when you study ethics 就要從基督的服事中間看見，你應當怎麼做人 from the way Jesus served you know how you should live your life 因為這樣救贖以後 and after redemption 你領受了上帝的生命 you received God's life 你得回了人的尊嚴 you have human dignity again 你也得到人應當盡的責任 then you have to fulfill your duty May God bless us all 現在我要請大家低頭禱告 I want all of us to bow our heads 你們回答我一些問題 answer some questions 請停止行動 因為這是一個聚會 Do not move around 有哪一個人？ How many of you?
